Shreveport Bossier Disc Golf Courses
Clyde Fant Park, also known as Veteran's Park, runs along the Red River in Shreveport. The park offers extensive outdoor lighting that allows for 24-hour play. Each hole includes a concrete tee pad, good signage, and well-maintained baskets. Clyde Fant Disc Golf Course was established in 1977. Every Thursday SBDGU will have a weekly mini at 6:30PM at the park.
Ford Park, is one of SPAR's most attended parks. The park offers 21 baskets and many large pines with some elevation. Ford Park is located across from Cross Lake. This park offers two playgrounds, restrooms, and pavilions, The second and fourth Sunday of each month SBDGU will have weekly mini's on Sundays at 1:30PM at the park.
Highland Park, is located near downtown Shreveport in the historic Highland neighborhood. Highland Park is a 9 basket course but dual tees allow you to play the course as 18. Every Third Sunday of the month, SBDGU will host a Sunday mini beginning at 1:30PM. This park is nice for a quick round anytime of the week. New for 2018 will be the addition of Tee-signs and repaving of the current walking path through the park.
Lake Bistineau State Park Disc Golf Course is an 18-hole course with varied terrain. The course is located in Doyline, Louisiana and is open daily until dusk. There is a park entrance fee of $3 per person. Bistineau has a good variety with elevation, flat, and wooded terrain. There are dual pin positions and dual tees on long holes. This State park does offer camping, pavilions, and restrooms. SBDGU will play a mini at 1:30PM at the park the first Sunday of every month.
Earl G. Williamson Park, located in Oil City, Louisiana. This course is just north of Shreveport near Caddo Lake. Earl G. Williamson Park is a 9 basket course developed in 2001 with a good mix of open and wooded holes. NEW for 2018 will be the expansion of the park to an 18 basket course with a redesign of the current 9 baskets. Upon completion of the project SBDGU will host once a month Sunday mini at 1:30PM.
Mike Woods Park is located in Bossier City, Louisiana. It is a nice, easy disc golf course in Shady Grove subdivision near Barksdale Air Force Base. Mike Woods Park is mostly flat and lightly wooded. This park does offer a pavilion, restrooms, and tennis courts.
Scheduled to open in March 2018 will be Shreveport's first wooded 18 basket course. More information can be found on Airport Park by looking at the What Makes SBDGU Different page.
